Life in the Twin Valleys has always been shaped by stories, traditions and the ancient baobab that watches over Amara's village. But when birds abandon the valley, fish disappear and the river begins to fall, the familiar rhythms of home start to change.
Then Amara hears something no one else seems to hear.
A single mysterious word:
Koruma.
Searching for answers brings Amara together with Kito, Sewa and Tarek. Their clues lead from strange markings beneath the Listening Tree to footprints that belong to an unknown visitor, and eventually to a secret hidden beneath the roots.
But discovery brings responsibility. With a Storykeeper missing and the river continuing to weaken, the four friends must learn to trust one another, follow the evidence and decide how far they are willing to go to protect the home they love.
